YAST Signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai University and Yunnan Tin Group

On April 22, 2019, Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology, Shanghai University and Yunnan Tin Group held a signing ceremony of  cooperation agreement on material genome engineering strategic in Shanghai. Hou Shuqian, President of the YAST, Lai Yumin, Director of Academic Committee YAST, Jin Donghan, Party Secretary and President of Shanghai University, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Tongyi, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman Zhang Tao, Party Secretary of Yunnan Tin Group and others attended the signing ceremony.

At the meeting, Lai Yumin, Director of the Academic Committee YAST, Luo Jun, Director of Innovation Management Department of Shanghai University, and Hu Shiyao, Director of Science Technology and Operation Management of Yunnan Tin Group, Professor Qian Quan, Director of the Center for Material Information and Data Science, Institute of Materials Genome, Shanghai University, made wonderful reports respectively on the development of S&T and regional cooperation in Shanghai University, the development strategy and cooperation overview in Yunnan Tin Group, the general situation of genetic engineering of rare and precious metal materials in Yunnan Province, the special database for genetic engineering of tin-indium materials in Yunnan and the promotion of major R&D projects for information construction. Hou Shuqian, President of YAST, Jin Donghan, President of Shanghai University, Zhang Tao, Chairman of the Yunnan Tin Group, all delivered speeches, wishing the three parties coordinate development, achieve win-win cooperation and create better future.

President Hou Shuqian pointed out that the major science and technology project for genome engineering of rare and precious metal materials in Yunnan Province is making rare and precious metals as the core and facing the needs of the industry, using the operating mechanism of cooperative innovation and coordinated development among production-learning-research-use to cooperate with the expert team at home and abroad to form a demonstration project. Through the implementation of the project, it will provide strong support for the development of rare and precious metal industry in Yunnan Province. The full cooperation with Shanghai University and Yunnan Tin Group is a key project of genome engineering demonstration and application of tin-indium materials led by Academician Zhang Tongyi, facing the practical needs of Yunnan tin industry, giving play to the interdisciplinary advantages of Shanghai University and with collaborative innovation in politics-production-learning-research-use. We are grateful to Shanghai University for attaching importance to the development of science and technology in Yunnan. I believe that the cooperation between YAST and Shanghai University will scale new heights in the future. I also hope that more experts will participate in the scientific and technological cooperation in Yunnan Province in the future.

The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement on material genome engineering will mark a new level of scientific and technological cooperation between Shanghai and Yunnan, and this strategic cooperation will also promote the transfer of high and new technologies such as material genome engineering to enterprises and industries to form real productive forces, also to provide technical support for the transformation and development of enterprises, to form an operating mechanism of cooperative innovation and coordinated development among politics-production-learning-research-use, to work together on the research and development of new nonferrous metal products with characteristics such as tin and indium, and actively promote the transformation of scientific research achievements and the industrialization of advanced technology, enhance the independent innovation ability and core competitiveness of core technology research, and contribute to the industrial development of Yunnan Province.
